A Sunday routine to set you up for an organised week

I always get the worse case of Mondayitis, typically on a Sunday afternoon. Even as I write this I can hear Caleb telling me, “Don’t let Monday ruin your Sunday.”

It’s weird because I love my job, but there’s something about coming to the end of a weekend and seeing a whole working week stretching out before me that just doesn’t sit well.

My best remedy for Mondayitis is to be productive and get organised for the week ahead. It makes me feel like I’ve accomplished something, instead of wallowing.

So here are my top tips for an organised week that I recommend doing on a Sunday…

Meal plan

Knew that one was coming didn’t you. But it is essential for an organised and stress-free week.

Check your diary to see what you’ve got going on this week then plan your meals around it.

Tidy and de-clutter

Tidy home, tidy mind.

There’s no joy in waking up to a messy house on Monday morning.

Instead spend a few minutes on Sunday putting away washing, cleaning the kitchen, tidying your room and putting away those pesky papers and documents which seem to accumulate in the same spot. 

A tidy home will give you more headspace to concentrate on what you need to do that week.

Outfit prep

This is a helpful tip if you’re got to be ready and out the door within a few minutes, which realistically is most of us.

I haven’t yet gone so far as to plan my outfit each day but I do like the idea of picking out a few key pieces at the start of the week that I want to incorporate into my week of outfits. Then I can build the rest of my outfit around this piece.

It’s a good way to get some use out of your less worn items too.


Make sure you take some time on your Sunday afternoon to do something you enjoy too.

Go for a walk, catch up with a friend, pop on a face mask, read a book or watch a movie – whatever makes you relax.

The week can be hectic, which is why you need to make the most of your relaxation time on the weekends.

If you feel well rested and relaxed it will set you up for a better week too.
